EXCELLENT Based on 181 reviews Wendy Greeff09/05/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I did not stay on the premises so cannot comment about the rooms, but I enjoyed a great meal in the restaurant, which I would happily recommend. The location gets four stars because it is right on the edge of town and at night it is quite dark there. I drove safely, though some people might be put off. I wouldn't recommend trying to walk there. Duncan Udawatta26/04/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had dinner at the Yellow House. The entire meal experience was an absolute delight! The hosts were very welcoming. Gave us a homely feeling. I grew up in Botswana. Cattle country. Steaks were a regular meal all my life. At The Yellow House I had one of the best steaks I have ever had. Melted in my mouth. I will highly recommend The Yellow House to anyone visiting Prince Albert and looking for good flavoursome meals with very friendly hosts. It is a local institution i my opinion. As soon as we arrived everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. All are truly passionate about the place and that resulted in a really lovely dinner. The lamb shank is a highlight as promised, the pizza very tasty and the chocolate cake delicious also!
EXCELLENT Based on 40 reviews Liesel B9 March 2025Verified Top choice in Prince Albert for genuine hospitality Petro and Joubert embody everything and more when it comes to that famous Karoo hospitality. The cottages are comfortable and fully equipped for self catering. They are tastefully decorated in the spirit of the rustic Karoo surrounds, and offer great views over the almond farm and orange orchard and to the mountains beyond. There is a small, sparkling pool hidden among the almond trees, for a refreshing dip or spending a lazy afternoon soaking up the sun and fresh air. The onsite restaurant offers tasty dishes made with locally sourced ingredients and the menu is deliberately updated on a regular basis, to offer variety and freshness. You're guaranteed to feel welcome here. A top choice for a stay in Prince Albert! Brian Paddey2 March 2025Verified Bliss in the Karoo Petro and Joubert are the perfect hosts! Their attention to detail is evident everywhere... the rooms, the gardens, the orchard, the plunge pool, the dining room, and of course the food! Oh boy, the food! An interesting and unique menu is brought to life on the plates... well presented by informed, friendly, and well-trained staff. If you need a place to stay, or just something to eat in Prince Albert, do not miss the Yellow House! William Baxter9 February 2025Verified Excellent Meals. We had a disappointing meal in February 2024, and were reluctant to try the Yellow house again. Luckily we did, because we had two excellent meals there, and we have booked again for the end of February. Attentive staff, great Wines, and amazing Food expertly made by Jason the chef. emeintjes23 December 2024Verified Love this place! Petro is the best hostess. We always love staying here. The rooms are so beautifully and tastefully decorated, and everything you could need is provided in the kitchenette. We will definitely be back. Seaside6318393780231 May 2024Verified Fantastic experience What an experience, greeted by the owner on arrival makes you feel welcome. There is good menu with goose variety to choose from. They cater for gluten intolerant diners. Wine offering is good. We had a lite lunch, eating pizza which was great. The gluten free pizza base was amazing. They cater fir inside or out side seating with beautiful scenery. JoeCBansteadUK22 April 2024Verified Ideal Position On Edge Of Town This review is relatively objective being my 17th road trip staying in 18 properties over a 43 night period, I stayed solo for one night in February. Easily found just on the edge of town with plenty of off street parking. It was the owners ‘day off’, so was greeted by the manager, who was efficient and friendly. Lavender Cottage was located slightly away from the main building in the well maintained garden bordering the orchard. Large and perhaps one of the best equipped self catering units I’ve stayed in. Nespresso type coffee machine. Comfortable and clean. The aircon wasn’t needed as surprisingly cool indoors. The in house EAT restaurant was closed, so a reservation was made for me in an excellent restaurant in town. No breakfast provided, but the excellent Lazy Lizard breakfast/lunch spot is just down the road. Decent WiFi. No generator, but standby lights provided. The only niggle was a rooster in the adjacent property that thought it was dawn at 0300 - but hey, this is the countryside. If visiting Prince Albert again I’d probably only stay when the EAT restaurant was open (I knew it was closed before booking) ajones79227120 January 2024Verified Drove the Swarberg It would really require some unrealistically excessive expectations to find fault with this venue, which is lovely in every respect. This in house restaurant serves excellent food, and there is a very good wine list. Emma L11 January 2024Verified Relaxing farm stay Perfect spot for a break in the Karoo. Chill farm vibes, comfortable beds and a nice powerful shower. There's even a splash pool down in the orchard with a nice relaxing braai area. If you want to eat at the restaurant, remember to book as they fill up super quickly!
