Honey Cottage is a light-filled, spacious unit with a king bed (which can be turned into two ample singles). We could also bring in another single. Together with Ginger Cottage, these two units can be rented out as a double unit, as they have an interlinking door between them. The enclosed bathroom features a walk-in shower. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with a gas stove, electric oven, microwave, kettle, fridge/freezer and Nespresso machine. We also supply locally roasted coffee, especially blended for Yellow House, to use in the French press. The unit has air-conditioning, as well as an indoor fireplace next to the kitchen table for those cold Karoo evenings. The wide stoep is perfect for napping on the vintage iron bed, or for gathering around the stoep table whilst looking how the setting sun reflects on the mountains beyond the orchard. Head straight down the garden path for the ‘Boordbad’ (swimming pool in the orchard) for a cool-down and fall asleep with your book on one of the pool loungers under the pergola. At night the outside fireplace begs for a fire, or you can walk up the mosaicked steps leading to EAT for a wonderful dinner. The flat-screen TV features selected DSTV channels, but the view of the fruit trees doing their seasonal thing is often better.
